WOMEN’S AND PELVIC HEALTH

NEW WOMEN'S AND PELVIC HEATH SERVICE —

NEW WOMEN'S AND PELVIC HEATH SERVICE —

We at Total Physio now offer high quality, evidence-based physiotherapy for women’s and pelvic health patients. A woman’s body is very unique and goes through significant changes during her lifespan including during pregnancy, post-natal and menopause. Through consultation with a high quality Women’s Health Physio, the underlying issue can be identified and treated. Our individualised treatment approach and careful consideration of all contributing factors ensure we work closely with you to achieve excellent outcomes. Assessment involves thorough subjective history, internal vaginal examination to test for weakness, tightness or change to the pelvic floor muscles, altered sensation and assessment of prolapse.

We can work together to ensure collaborative care for our patients through our Women’s Health services.

PRE & POST NATAL EXERCISE

We have a great selection of Pilates and Strength training classes at our gym, Thrive by Total Physiotherapy. If you would like to work on something specific or just improve your overall Strength and Conditioning, let our physiotherapists guide you to the right class or work with you in a 1:1 session to improve your confidence.

Pre- and Post-Natal Exercise

We love to support Pre- and Post-Natal women to safely and effectively meet their exercise goals. Many of our classes are suitable and can be tailored to your requirements. To ensure we can best support you in achieving your goals, we recommend the following:

Pre-Natal: Commence with an Initial Physiotherapy Consultation with one of our Physiotherapists. They will help establish your goals, identify any specific considerations or modifications that need to be considered in your training, guide you on the best classes for you to attend and monitor you over your journey to ensure you are making the progress you desire and assist with any musculoskeletal complaints that may arise over the pregnancy.

Post-Natal: Once you have received clearance to return to exercise from your Medical Practitioner or Women’s Health Physiotherapist, you are ready to join our Thrive Classes. If you would like guidance on the most suitable classes for you and/or to establish your goals and a training plan, it is a good idea to start with a consultation at Total Physiotherapy with one of our Physiotherapists.

Mums and Bubs Pilates and Yoga Classes

We don’t always have these classes in our schedule, however, if you have a group of at least 4 mums who would like to establish a weekly Mums and Bubs class, then let us know and we will set one up for you! These classes can be commenced once you have received Medical Clearance to return to exercise and can continue until your Bub is crawling.
