Thrive Classes

We offer classes for every level, and each class is capped at maximum 4-8 people so everyone can get the individual attention they need. All classes are first-come, first-served, so please book ahead via reception@totalphysiosydney.com.au

Prime Movers Level 1(Over 65s)*

Tuesdays & Thursdays
10:30am – 11:15am

Prime Movers Level 1 is a group-based exercise class for those aged 65 and above, and involves a combination of strength, balance and cardiovascular exercise. This class focuses on building and maintaining strength & balance that is essential to ensure quality of life and independence. We recommend level 1 for those who have low/no prior exercise history and want to start at a beginner pace.

Prime Movers Level 2 (Over 50s)*

Prime Movers Level 2 is a group-based exercise class for those aged 50 and above, and involves a progressively tracked weights and balance exercises. This class focuses on helping clients aged 50 and above reach their full potential with strength training, while also exercising in a safe and supervised environment. We recommend level 2 for those with some prior history of exercise but who would like to increase their confidence in a gym setting.

This is an evidence-based bone health program for patients with a diagnosis of osteopaenia or osteoporosis.

45-min small-group exercise sessions incorporating progressive tracked strength training, weight bearing impact exercises (jumping), back strengthening, safe lifting techniques and stability training.

Thrive Spines*

Our Thrive Spines class is for those who suffer from recurrent or chronic low back, upper back, or neck pain. This is a clinical Mat Pilates class with a program specifically designed to cater for individuals with spinal conditions or concerns. This program is designed and delivered by our physiotherapists who are also certified Pilates instructors.

 

Thrive Mat

Thrive Mat is a guided 45 minute mat pilates class that incorporates whole body exercises while maintaining a focus on breath, core control and positioning. Every class is different and may include various props to advance or assist as required. All classes can be modified and are lead by a qualified physiotherapist who can adjust to suit your specific needs or injuries. These classes have a focus on lengthening and strengthening the whole body, particularly the core and glutes. This class is suitable for all ages, abilities and conditions, including osteoporosis.

Once you feel confident with your mat pilates, reformer is the next level you may be looking for. This 45 minute pilates class is completed on a reformer machine (a moving platform with various resistive springs). The springs allow for higher resistance exercises, more balance and stability challenges, all while getting a full body burn.

Thrive strength is a structured strength training program which includes variations to ensure balanced development across muscle groups. Thrive Strength emphasises proper form, gradual progression, and provides a supportive environment for all fitness levels, helping members build functional strength for everyday life.

Thrive Strength+ takes your strength training to the next level by integrating both weightlifting and reformer Pilates into a single class. This unique combination ensures that you not only gain muscle but also improve your core stability, balance, and overall body coordination. Thrive Strength+ strikes the perfect balance between intense strength training and controlled, mindful movement.

 

Thrive Rehab*

Mondays
6:30pm – 7:15pm & 7:15pm - 8pm

Our Thrive Rehab class is an individualised rehabilitation class for those with lower limb injuries (hip/knee/ankle) who have a rehabilitation goal (i.e return to running or sport.) The primary focus of this class is ACL knee rehabilitation, however patients can also be referred to this class post-fracture, -meniscal injury, -ligament injury and post-operatively.
